I was the VFX Lead for the Forerunner Campaign Missions on Halo 5. I set up and designed the effects and texture sets for the Power Core and Explosion sequence. This included the surrounding energy, object functions to drive the color based on progressive damage states caused by player weapon impacts (blue-to-purple-to-red), energy strands being pulled inwards, power core surface material, lens flares, effects lighting, overall atmospherics, screen flash effects, radial blur, distortion, and post screen color grading and exposure adjustments during the final destruction sequence.
